ALBERGUEX ' 93                                              

On 27th September to the first of October 1993, the Spanish Armada carried out a naval exercise named ALBERGUEX to test use of the Aircraft Carrier Príncipe de Asturias R-11 at urgent evacuation operations.  Also taking part were the frigates Santa María F-81, Victoria F-82 and Andalucía F-72; LST Velasco L-11, patrol boat Dragonera P-32 and TEAR (Tercio de Armada) Spanish Marines   

Diorama at 1/700 scale of Aircraft Carrier Príncipe de Asturias R-11 sailing close together with the frigate Santa María F-81 .       The Aircraft Carrier is completely scratchbuilt  in plastic card pieces from Evergreen, WEM helicopters ( AB-212 and SH-3  Seaking) Pit Road planes ( Harrier A & B) and Tom's ModelWorks PE ; anti-aircraft weapon Spanish Meroka System scratchbuilt.  The frigate Santa María frigate from Skywave with mast improvements. Sea surface acrylic gel from Woodland Scenics.
