Sado Maru

Here are some photos of one of my latest models - Sado Maru.  This is the Fujimi kit but built in her pre-war NYK colours.  As already pointed out in many modelling forums, the decks were all steel - not planked as Fujimi released it.  This necessitated the rubbing down of all deck features and rebuilding as required.
 
I think the ship is drop dead gorgeous - built in 1939 and an influence for a generation of ships after the war.
 
As usual, Masts are brass rod - photoetch a combination of Fujimi's dedicated set plus GMM, Lion Roar and Eduard.  Paints are Citadel (Warhammer) acrylics and water made to the 'McCabe method'.  Hope you like it.
